Taking Baby Steps
Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Well, I know it's just an AA, but from the beginning of my college endeavors, I wanted a piece of paper at the midpoint of my BA to signify some kind of accomplishment. And the "Magna Cum Laude" doesn't hurt.
Next steps: I transferred to the Univeristy of Memphis, declared a major (International Business) and a minor (Espanol), and start my first thirteen credits on Monday (because I have time for that....). Another 900 years of school, then on to the MBA. Like I said, baby steps. On the brightside, I had enough transfer credits to come in three courses short of Senior status. Which, of course, means I'll be in the running for the longest time spent as a college senior.
Ah, the life of a professional adult student.

The above picture is my paternal grandmother. In the photo, taken in 1955, she's in England and pregnant with my pops. He's down in Memphis visiting right now and brought a bunch of old pictures to look at. This one has to be my favorite. I bet my grandpa had no idea he was taking a wicked shot. If you're interested, click the image to see one in larger resolution.
And tell me she doesn't look like Judy Garland (pre-stoner days, of course).
