Namaste!

Well, I don't have a ton of time at the moment, but did want to say 1) I made it to India, and 2) This hotel is badass. I just took the above picture directly out my room window. Nifty, huh?
More to come...

Off I go :-)

Tomorrow morning, my journey to India begins. I'm pretty psyched, but also curious how the jet lag will get to me. The first flight is from Memphis to Chicago, no big deal. The second flight is Chicago to Frankfurt. I'll cross 8 time zones in as many hours and don't really know what to expect. The third flight, Frankfurt to Delhi is only 4.5 (yes, that's a "point five", though I'm not sure how that works) timezones away from Frankfurt and another 8 hours. That gets us into Delhi around 1am local time on 4/1....hopefully I'll have time to start adjusting before dinner Sunday night and an early Monday morning at the office.
Blah, blah, blah....I know that's only interesting to me. But its my blog, so bite me.
I bought two new records for the flight, from two artists that I'm totally hot for. Chris Daughtry (swoon) and Mika (see previous posting) will be singing me through at least part of the trip. I'm also bringing a bunch of DVDs, and have a sick amount of work to get done on the flight.
Anywho....I'll try to post some stories and pictures from India, and definitely when I get back. Wish me luck.

Loving Mika. He's a little bit Rufus, a little bit Scissor Sisters, and a hell of alot of Freddy Mercury. Enjoy.

Business Class, Baby.
I'm so glad my company lets us ride business class for flights over ten hours. I can't imagine an 18 hour flight to Delhi in a center coach seat squished between a fat redneck woman and a kid with repulsive body odor.
Bless you, Hewitt. For this, at least.

My arm hurts. Actually both arms hurt. I know some people aren't complete needle-nellies, but I sure as hell am. Its funny how quickly a little tiny injection in each arm can freak me out. I'm such a sissy.
On the brightside, I should be able to avoid contracting Hepatitis A&B in India. And I got some prescriptions to help me fight off malaria. And anthrax. Did you know you can CATCH anthrax? Like, little anthrax bugs, just flying around could give you the freakin' thing? Maybe I have that wrong. I'm not a doctor.
Next task: buy a bottle of Pepto.

Heading East....WAY East...

Well, I'll skip the detailed "ketchup" session, except to say that I've been uber busy with work and traveling quite a bit. It's actually getting even crazier. As the title of this post and the above picture suggest, I'm going to Delhi, India in two weeks. I'm a little freaked out be the enormity of that statement, but super crazy excited as well.
So, it'll probably be a three hour flight from Memphis to New York, followed by a 7.5 hour flight to Amsterdam and an 8 hour flight from Amsterdam to Dehli. Upon arrival in Delhi, I'll attempt to find my driver in a crowd of 9 zillion people. After that, I have no idea what to expect
I do know, however that I get the privilege of a million immunizations beginning tomorrow. Gotta make sure I don't get malaria, hepatitis A or B, yellow fever, dengue, tetanus, leperosy, or any other nasty bringer of death. And my company has filed for a one-year, multiple entry work visa for me. It looks like this won't be the last trip I take.
For anyone who's unfamiliar, Delhi is the capital of India. The city lies in the northern part of the nation, a few hundred miles between Pakistan and China. Its home to the Taj Mahal, Indian government and political media, and so much more than I know about yet. I'll post more about the preparations over the next two weeks, and of course a plethora of pictures and notes when I'm actually there. I'm psyched. Wish me luck.
